I have the Showgirls set and it isn't HD.  The commentary track alone is worth the price.  You should watch that first if you haven't seen it already MrTorso.

Yeah the Showgirls is a standard DVD. Actually it is not even the full box set. They had the VIP edition DVD from that set for $4.99 at Fry's Electronics. I figured for that price it was worth it.  I have seen it Raven, I saw it opening weekend in the theater.

I meant with the commentary track on.  Or is that what you're talking about.  The guy who provided the commentary did do live shows around the country.

Seinfeld Season 4, from Amazon.com's marketplace.

I wouldn't recommend getting DVD sets this way. Invariably they come packaged in a paper sleeve, and square boxes show up as amorphic amoebas with DVDs inside. Really really irritating when you've got 3 nice boxes and then a fucking hobo shitbox next to it.

There's nothing wrong with getting DVDs from Amazon Marketplace, read the product description. Then again, I've never been burnt (by it) so your mileage may vary.

Yeah, the description said "Used - Like New: Only Watched Once."

I got a DVD boxset that looked like it'd been used to prop up a couch for several months.

I think the real point here is to only buy DURABLE shit through Amazon Marketplace, or stuff that you don't care if it arrives crumpled and water-damaged.

I always check the description, sure. But that's usually only as important as the seller's feedback. even more so than on eBay. That's where you get the real story on how someone operates. I rarely buy from anyone with less than 99% positive feedback, or someone from the other side of the country. And with Amazon Marketplace, the difference between a horrible sale and a great sale could be less than five cents.

Last night I picked up seaon one of Frisky Dingo

I really enjoy this show, but this has got to be the weakest DVD collection Adult Swim has put out. From the plain jane packaging, to absolutely NO extra features. The menu screen just gives you Play All, Chapters, and Set Up.

Also, Adult Swim collections are known for easter eggs. Not a single one to be found on this one. The only plus was a copy of the Welcome to you're "DOOM" postcard. It might be a case of them playing off the show itself, where Killface has blown all his cash on his doomsday device (The Annihilatrix), and has next to no money left to properly market it, so he has to resort to a direct mailing campaign after he finds out DVD's with animated menu's would be too expensive. I get the joke, but you could have slipped something extra in there.

I think that's the only Batman animated movie from that "era" that I haven't seen yet.  The only time I ever see it on shelves is as a two pack with Mask of the Phantasm, which I already own.

The plot is decent enough (Mr. Freeze's next appearance on Batman: the Animated Series doesn't make a lot of sense without it), but be warned: the occasional use of CG in this movie is very obtrusive.
