Tonight I bought a guilty pleasure: The Manhattan Project.  John Lithgow in a happy little 80s "smart kid builds an a-bomb and doesn't get why all the grups are cheesed at him" movie.  It's silly and smarmy and I don't care.  Since I dropped all my movie channels there's no more "it's 3:27am and I'm flipping and - oops, it's that movie and he's using the toy car to steal the - oh, okay, I'll just stay up and watch the rest...."  So I have to get a copy.

And I'm balancing it with a movie I should have had in my collection a long time ago - the George Pal War of the Worlds.

It's STILL that silly alien language commentary?  Or did they finally ad a real commentary to this and leave the old one as an option?

Trek TAS is a treat. The quality of the eps varies, but I've been watching this for a couple of months now.  The satan-worshipper one is hilarious. Smiley

My box of change filled up with about $260 worth of change, which I cashed in at a Coinstar machine for an Amazon.com gift certificate.  With that, I ordered these:

And put these two on preorder.

$260 in change? Holy crap. How big was this box?  I have a "growler" from a brewpub which, since moving, is no longer "local" to me and therefore no longer useful as a growler. When it's full I hope to do the same as you. In previous visits to Coinstar I've only gotten $20 or $30, but that's because a) I was too impatient to wait for the thing to fill up and b) I extracted all the quarters because I had to use them to do laundry.  Don't have to do that anymore.

Meanwhile, I just ordered:

I don't know the dimensions (I'll try to remember to measure it when I get home), but I think it's best illustrate in terms of soda cans.  Take four standard 12 ounce cans and lay them on their side,  side to side (the way they're pacakged in one of those fridge ready 12 packs).  Then stack another four on top of those.  It's about that big.

Or maybe about half the size of a shoebox.

I have a bar whisky bottle - you know, the ones they turn upside down - and it has about £400 in it.  I keep meaning to get it changed up, but the thing is bloody heavy.  Smiley
