Yeah, I apologize for not posting this sooner, perhaps subconsciously, I was embarrassed that such an event occurred in my hometown.  The fact of the matter is, when the story was being reported, I was only half listening.  When they said that there was something about a 'bomb-threat' at a local school, I sighed, and though the news was disturbing, I guess I just chalked it up to happening sooner or later'. The fact of the matter, school violence and such is just as commonplace here as in larger communities.  So as I was saying, I just happened to be in the living room while the TV was on, and tuned to the local coverage of this incident, not paying it much attention.  It wasn't long until that changed completely, the reporters began to give more details, and it wasn't long before I was hooked.  This was no ordinary bomb scare, which is why the title of this thread describes it as 'hair raising', as it was no ordinary school either.  It was a a local hair salon/ hairstyling 'academy, I kid you not.  '  You can read about it, and even watch the broadcast here... http://yourerie.com/content/fulltext/?cid=6033

For some reason, I'm reminded of the 'Atomic-Powered Hair Dryer'  from MST3K...

We had bomb threats at our school a whole bunch of times.  If it was in the summer, we all secretly prayed that we could go home - which did happen a few times - though in Winter, and if we we're doing sports, it was a pain to wait around while the school was "cleared".

We never had any bomb threats at my school, the only reason we ever had to evacuate was for fire drills, but we did end up getting a full time security guard and we went on "lock-down" once or twice, class suspended and everyone kept in their rooms while something somewhere was searched.  I never found out what those were and what anyone was looking for.

All I'm saying is that the whole story took on a different tone when It was a hair styling/cosmetology school.  The police didn't exactly come out and say it, but they had pretty much come to the same conclusion that I had.  That somebody had a test that they hadn't prepared for and was 'buying time'...  But seriously, before this was the 'pizza bomber' case, and a few years before, an Erie resident lost their 'pet' asian lion, which was repeatedly sighted, and then hunted down.  I dunno, I'm beginning to suspect that there's something in the water (or sunspots, magnetism, ley lines, whatever)
