I have been looking and haven't found any pics or vids. This is probably why: http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/10/abc-scraps-plans-for-v-skywriting-campaign.htmlABC has scrapped its ambitious plan to cover the skies of major cities with giant "V"s to promote the Nov. 3 debut of its alien invasion drama.
The network was going to employ skywriters to promote the show above 26 U.S. landmarks -- such as the Statue of Liberty, Fenway Park and Santa Monica Pier.
After THR broke the story, Washington Post's Lisa de Moraes wrote a column estimating the amount of pollution the skywriting campaign would cause (800 grams of lead, etc), and noted parent company Disney's declaration that it would cut its fuel emissions in half by 2012.
An ABC spokesperson said network has simply decided to spend its money in other ways.

OH, man, I didn't know about the Vs in the sky, I would have tried to see the one in Tempe. I loved the original miniseries when it came out. I was in high school, I think. I wonder if I'd like it as much now. Perhaps not. But I have great memories of it, but I don't have a lot of hope for the new series. I hope I'm wrong.

I'll bet a good 80% of the people who saw it would have thought - just as I used to when I saw skywriters just doing one letter over and over - that they were just practicing. Or worse, because it was a color other than white, that it was some kind of poison attack.

Aw, I missed the post about the cancellation of the skywriting. Sounds like it was for the best, then.

Okay, everybody.....
Today on SyFy:
V - The Miniseries Part 1 - 1pm EST and Part 2 at 3pm. They're also going to reshow it starting at 11pm EST tonight.
V: The Final Battle starts at 5pm EST. It's in three parts and runs until 11pm.
Then tomorrow starting at 8am until 6pm - V: The Series!!!!
I was going to say that the part of that I question is showing the old series right before the new one...probably put people off....
But the new series is on ABC and SyFy is owned by NBC (last I heard) so.....

I will give the new show a shot but all the adds I have seen make it look a lot like Earth Final Conflict only nowwhere near as good. I hope it is good I am just getting a real knock off/preachy show vibe from the adds.
Hey at least SciFi is playing some scifi.

Tuned past ABC (quickly, they were showing NASCAR) and there was a "V" commercial....
Very little information just shots of the woman with the Bridget Jones pixie cut over and over again....and a bit where she's telling a interviewer straight out not to ask her any questions that would make the Visitors look bad...
In Kenneth Johnson's original, there wouldn't be a TV interviewer who still had their job who didn't already know that already...much less be surprised that she'd said it.
But we'll give it a shot, won't we?

Sorry about three in a row but..... Just found out that SyFy is showing more episodes of "V - The Series" tomorrow (Tues). From 8am until 4pm. They're starting with the episode where Charles is forcing Diana to marry him.... (they did this to cash in on the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana - little did they know....) At 4pm they're going to show the original mini-series again. It will run until 8:30pm. The new series starts at 8pm.
