I think if one wanted to, one could read anything into anything. I really did not see any politics in V at all. Just a show that had a VERY rushed episode to set up tension between the visitors and the humans. It could have used a two hour pilot to let things happen less rushed.

Amen. Just ask any English Lit major! And as for V, can I get more and lengthier shots of pretty boy gazing at the alien equivalent of Julie from The Love Boat?

Isn't ABC owned by Disney not Fox? Yes. Just watch the cross promotion in any episode of "Extreme Makeover Home Edition". I mean if this is about Obama so was some stuff that was written when he was a kid. For instance, "To Serve Man" (episode of TZ) that came from a short story published in the November 1950 issue of Galaxy Magazine (Obama was born in 1961)....

There isn't a thread for the old "V" series (or if there is it's very old) so I'll post this here. Found an interview with Jane Badler from an internet radio show. It was done August of 2008 so it's mainly good for info on the old series.

There isn't a thread for the old "V" series... There was, but it kinda' got merged with this thread about the new series. Anyway... The last episode wasn't so hot. It didn't seem to actually go anywhere, and we ended up in pretty much the same place as the end of the first episode. I suppose the pilot just felt so rushed that i expected that pace to continue. And, i may be a little spoiled because i tend to DVR a series and watch a few episodes all at once. Oh well... i'll probably stick it out for the first season. But something better start happening soon. -Rude

Now that I've had a real look at this first show, it's funny how the whole thing about the Visitors in disguise infiltrating government and the military, performing acts of terrorism under "False Flags" and starting unnecessary wars got lost when drawing parallels....

I'm talking to myself, evidently...but I'll spoiler this anyway.
Episode 3 (the Reader's Digest version)
And that's where it ended.
This isn't as good as the first mini-series...and the second episode of this was dull as dishwater, really.
But this one was pretty good. Again, it's no original "V" but I'm willing to keep watching.

I'm still watching. It seems like it's gotten a bit darker which I was hoping for after watching the first episode. I could really do without the teeny romance crap but I guess you gotta keep the kids watchin', right?
