The DC Sniper has been put to death...and his lawyer says the legal system "let him down".....
Um....11 killed, 3 wounded (for three possible motives), the shootings were done from a sniper's nest built into the trunk of his car, the rifle was found in the car, his partner confirmed the he shot some of the victims too....
So what was the legal system supposed to do for him...other than what it just did?

Also if you have enough of your brain to kill people the way he did i think you have enough brains to know shooting people is wrong. Sniping people takes a lot of planning.

New Job! Only out for 3 weeks, WAS running a data entry team in a office and hating every second of it, NOW working in a cool shop in the CD department! Money's about 3/4 of what I was making but, w00t! Doing something I'm passionate about over the Summer (at least) is exactly what I needed) and since I got paid out heaps of leave I hadn't taken I've doubled my bank balance. Well here's the description from DSM IV-TR A. There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three (or more) of the following:
(1) failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest
(2) deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure
(3) impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
(4) irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults
(5) reckless disregard for safety of self or others
(6) consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations
(7) lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another
B. The individual is at least age 18 years.
C. There is evidence of Conduct Disorder with onset before age 15 years.
D. The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of Schizophrenia or a Manic Episode. Virginia uses the M'Naghten rule which states: Every man is to be presumed to be sane, and . . . that to establish a defense on the ground of insanity, it must be clearly proved that, at the time of the committing of the act, the party ACCUSED was laboring under such a defect of reason, from disease of mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing; or if he did know it, that he did not know he was doing what was wrong. An insanity Plea wouldn't have worked in Mohammad's case, he absolutely knew what he was doing and that it was wrong. |

Maybe he doesn't think our government should be allowed to execute citizens for any reason, and maybe he means that it is a miscarriage of justice when any citizen is executed....regardless of their definite guilt. |
