If you have a thought that can't be worked into any likely conversation, here's were you post it.
For instance, it just occurred to me that if I found myself travelling back in time, I'd tell nothing but ridiculous lies about the future. I just wouldn't be able to help myself.

I'll support this thread. I've got a few thoughts.
No one really listens anymore. I don't know what happened. Maybe it's people my age or in my situation but no one seems listen. Everybody's too involved with their own affairs that when you try to have a meaningful conversation all they can do is talk about trivialities. When you find a person who will listen, probably a close friend or relative, they continually make analogies to their own problems trying to make it seem like they know exactly what you're talking about. It really pisses me off. People need to shut up every once and awhile and just let others talk. Don't claim to have the answer, don't belittle them with your example of what they're going through, don't interupt. That's the easiest way to listen and it means a lot.

I know exactly what you mean. It reminds me of this aimless, meandering story from my own life, which involves... *45 paragraphs later* ...and then I told him that fishnet stockings just don't look as sexy on a Yak. But did he listen? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! |
