And she writes...

The concept is simple.  Post the last movie you watched and your thoughts about it.

Saved!
I liked it.  The type of comedy in the movie was right up my alley.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

It was decent... better than the last 2, certainly.

Before that, I think the last movie we saw in the theatres was Spider-Man 3.

We don't get out much (we live an hour and a bit away from the nearest theatre, and don't have any family close enough to babysit for us to have a night out). Smiley

DOA was the last movie I watched too

It was awful. Truely awful. Couldn't have been worse if the Bollster directed it himself. Only good part was Jamie Pressly in a bikini. Oh, and Kevin Nash was in it. But that wasn't enough to save it.

Woody Allen's "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Sex*"
*But were afraid to ask

Some sketches were entertaining, some were just meh. I thought the bit with the fool and king, the french woman, and the "Are transvestites Homosexual" were dull, but I enjoyed some of the sketches near the ending, gene wilder x Daisy, and I loved the mad scientist skit with the giant breast.

I watched Smokin' Aces this morning before bed. Was ok, a bit more violent than I was expecting, and they unnecessarily telegraph the ending from very very early on.

I just watched The Lost World: Jurassic Park.  I'm a fan of the Jurassic park series and even though the third one wasn't that good I'm still looking forward to 4.

If I post on this thread everytime I watch a new film, it'll quickly become "the mrbasehart film watching thread" so I'll just stick to highlights.   Smiley

I saw 3:10 to Yuma recently, which was pretty decent.  I thought the characterization a little simplistic - Russell Crowe's not all bad, because he draws! - but it looked pretty good, and it was odd seeing the little guy from Jack & Bobby swearing.

Die Hard 2.

It was interesting listening to the director's commentary, in which he actually points out the parts of the movie that have since become action genre cliches (i.e. the air ducts, one-liners, closeups on bomb timers, psychotic head villain shooting his own men for minor failures) and explains that at the time they were relatively fresh and new. Having missed most of the formative era of the modern action genre, this was actually helpful to me...
