And mine probably never will.  We'll get ...Rise of the Footsoldier though - the one millionth British Gangster film released in the past ten years.  *sigh*  At least I get to watch Atonement Thursday night.

Well, I just the movie and thought it was great.  Billy does come across as a complete ass, but an extremely talented one.  That whole side of the gaming world seems a little too incestuous though -- perhaps with the Guinness Book of World Records involved, the scoring for these games will be a little more rigorous than before.

I saw this documentary last night. It made me feel all the things a movie, at its best, is supposed to make you feel.

You don't have to give a rat's behind about Donkey Kong, or even gaming in general, to enjoy King of Kong; if you don't find yourself wanting to cheer at the end, then you're some kind of cynical bastard, and I feel sorry for you.

I really liked it as well, and I quite liked the inner workings on the game itself, especially the guy who draws the china pen all over the screen to demonstrate how to beat the game.

Although the old champion has now reclaimed his record, without suspicion this time.   Smiley

I saw that myself. I can only hope he's not as much an asshat as he comes across in the movie (although his analogies are so terrible, I don't know how you can back away from them).

That video is from the internet... Seriously though, i'm not sure. I think it was created as a segment by the guys who produce Jackass and Viva La Bam for one of those video game TV shows.

But in other news, if you loved or hated Billy Mitchell, get ready for another classic video game documentary featuring him. An official selection of the 2007 Sundance & Los Angeles Film Festival: Chasing Ghosts.

We are finally getting the flick October 19th and the theater here is going to have a Donkey Kong contest before the flick on the big screen. It should be fun.
