just got a call from work asking if i could work 1-10pm instead of 12-5 like i originally was scheduled cause someone called in sick. i said yes, it's 3 hours more and considering how i'm only scheduled 32 hours next week, that is a good thing, lol. ugh, so much for having an easy 5 hour shift and then going out to dinner afterward. oh well, at least i have a job...

Utterly screwed up my shoulder yesterday, though I have no idea how. I suspect it was somehow the way I slept, but I went to work last night anyway which ended up being a shift that felt about 18 hours long with intermittent torture applied whenever I had to move around (which was all night). Had about an hour of sleep today as no matter what I do, there's still this horrible sharp shooting pain that's abated only with painkillers. It's happened before, so I know it'll be a few days before it feels okay again. Work's out tonight though.

Netflix sent me the extended version of Ghost Rider. Product page for the Ghost Rider Rifftrax Presents says it uses the standard version. I need to find a new avenue for this offering.

Really It doesn't say anywhere on the Netflix page what version it is and I can't get a good look at the cover picture to tell.. How long is it? The one on Netflix says it's 127 minutes.. How long is it supposed to be?

I think this is the first time in over 100 riffs that they've sent me the wrong version. I found a Bittorrent with the shorter running time. I won't know until the riff comes out if it works though. If not, I'll splurge and buy a copy.

Yup, time to find a used copy.
NOTE: This riff corresponds to the bloated 114 minute version of Ghost Rider, NOT the really, really bloated 127 minute version. The 127 minute version contains lots of additional footage, which is just too scary to think about. You can find the 114 minute version at Amazon and elsewhere. If you are watching the Netflix version, don't--it's the wrong version.

If I remember reading somewhere on the forum right, that's the exact reason that Rifftrax didn't do this movie already. They tried to get the movie from Netflix and got a different version than the one they clicked on or something.

I woke up this morning to find my glasses gone from my bedside table. My 2-year-old daughter had woke up before me and had been playing in my bedroom while I was finishing my snoozing, so I knew immediately what had happened. The only problem is, you ask a 2-year-old what she did with your glasses and all you get is "Don't see it!"
My glasses are all I have to allow me to see correctly since I ran out of contacts and I don't have the money to get a new subscription and glasses yet. So I had to use an old pair with a weaker prescription (I kept a couple of them for such emergencies) to try and find my proper pair. It took me almost an hour to finally find them in the dirty clothes in my room. The perfect start to my day off . . .

You know, if any of these "church members" did this at a funeral for a family member of mine, I would shoot them in the face without a moment's pause.
Members of fringe Kansas church protest memorial The Austin American-Statesman published this about the reaction of Killeen residents to members of a fringe Kansas church known to picket public events and funerals, often of soldiers. One of their signs read "God sent the shooter."
From the report:
About 30 Killeen residents quickly gathered Tuesday afternoon to drown out four members of a fringe Kansas church who arrived at Fort Hood to protest the soldiers killed in Thursday's shootings.
The members were from an organization known for picketing at public events and funerals, often those related or peripherally related to gay people or soldiers in the military. On Tuesday, the members stood just outside Fort Hood carrying signs that said things such as "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "God sent the shooter."
Heather Baker, a Killeen resident whose husband is deployed to Iraq, was eating at a nearby Denny's with a friend when she saw the protests.
"We saw these protesters out here, and we said 'We can't stand for that,' " Baker said. "So we went to Wal-Mart and got signs, and we've been here ever since."
The residents were carrying American flags and carrying make-shift signs that said "We support our troops."
...
After about an hour and a half, the four protesters left with heavy police protection as they walked to their car past several angry soldiers
