You mean this guy?:

Yeah it was pretty awful. He was pretty drunk and he got shirtless pretty quick. He actually had tickets in the upper seating area and he crashed his way onto the floor. He spent more time making faces and yelling back at the other people in his seating area.  The bouncers did come through at one point and get rid of people who didn't have the right arm band on.

And, is that a gnome/Gorton's fisherman hybrid tattoo below the JYD chain?

Pearl Jam

Third time I've seen them, every time they totally blow me away,  There's no pyro, video screens or even impressive lighting, just straight-ahead rock filled with passion and energy, I'd easily call them one of the best live acts in the world.

They played for two and a half hours and almost everyone sung along to every word of every song, brilliant.

MAIN SET
Breakferfall, Why Go, Corduroy, Gonna See My Friend, Elderly Woman, Amongst The Waves, Even Flow, Pilate, Unthought Known, Daughter/wma, Big Wave, Force of Nature, I Am Mine, Grievance, Garden, The Fixer, Save You

ENCORE 1
Just Breathe, Red Mosquito (with Ben Harper), Love Reign O'er Me (The Who cover), Whipping, Got Some, Do The Evolution,

ENCORE 2
Throw Your Arms Around Me (with Liam Finn), Given to Fly, Betterman, Alive, Yellow Ledbetter

Metallica

My brother's a huge Metallica fan and missed out, s he took to whining on Facebook about how his sister with a constant headache is going to the concert and he wasn't.  I, meanwhile, had a complete blast.  I had some nosebleed seats, but I was in a relatively small arena, so I was still fairly close to the stage.  I also got a fantastic look at the stage in general (GORGEOUS stagecraft--those lighting guys knew a thing or two!), and just had a perfectly swell time in general.  The sound was great, the energy was high, and overall, it was a killer evening.

The opening bands were pretty great, as well.  Lamb of God was the bigger hit with the crowd (and had one interesting little line that I think will stick with me for a while, "You're a herd of fucking pussies."), but I personally preferred the first opener, Volbeat.  Still, it was a rocking evening, and all it took was 3 naproxen beforehand to keep the constant headache at bay!

Lamb Of God turned into an arena band in like, no time flat. I barely had a chance to see them before they started playing all those super-mega shows. Oh well... one of these days maybe they'll start playing a few smaller venues again.

By the way Dim, were you prescribed Naproxen for your headaches? That's interesting... i use that for my pinched neck from time to time, but never tried it for my migraines. I'm on the Maxalt which seems to knock 'em out and return my vision after about twenty minutes or so. Can't say i've ever used 'em preemptively before a concert though!  Cheesy

This arena was pretty small.  Still big enough to host hockey and football games and the like, but probably on the smaller scale of what Lamb of God is used to playing.  Not too much of a moshpit going, either, which was a bit of a shame.

I was less prescribed and more told to take it.  Ibuprofen eventually stopped working, since I take so much of the stuff, so my doc switched me to Naproxen.  I tend to use it more for the tension headaches, and sometimes for very minor migraines.  I've got Imitrex for the bigger stuff, and it works like a charm if I catch it in time.

I've started getting into the habit of preempting my medication before going out, due to the constant headache.  I like not having to miss anything, so I usually pop a Naproxen, two if it's a rainy day or if I'm seeing a movie with a lot of explosions or something.  Three might have been a bit excessive, but it seemed sensible at the time.

I went to see Shake Toner the other day at a local venue...  awesome show!!  Smoke machine was on too high though, and they couldn't see their pedals, so they had to stop playing mid-song to get it turned down.

Ahhh prog.
