I am not the one calling for someone to lose free speech because they are not as pro free speech as I think they should be.
You have all said that there should be no limit on free speech and that anyone who calls for limits is stupid. You then say that my free speech should be limited.
You are all pro free speech as long as it is as you agree with it,if you don't you want someone to come in and shut the person up.
As I said we are saying the same thing, people need to be protected from too much free speech.
Straw manning as usual. Libel is illegal. Inciting riots is illegal. There's the classic "yelling fire in a crowded movie theater" is illegal. I think just about everyone agrees with these restrictions on free speech. No sane person believes that members of the media should be thrown in jail or silenced for simply misrepresenting facts. News outlets police themselves on that. If a reporter misrepresents facts, or presents false facts as true, the news outlet's credibility suffer. That's why Newsweek is respected as a worthwhile news source and the Weekly World News is not. On a grander scale, that's why Fox News is so widely disrespected while MSNBC and CNN are seen as more credible. In short, a reporter who knowingly misrepresents the facts faces disciplinary action at best, lawsuits for libel at worst. The idea that newscasters should be jailed is disgustingly un-American.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what harm it would do for the government to say that the news has to be unbiased if it is going to be labled news.

Because that label of unbiased is completely open ended and subjective. A government with that kind of power could label whatever news it didn't want to get out as "biased" and imprison people for it. Not to mention IT VIOLATES THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

You forget that he apparently wants that to happen, just like in China, the greatest country on earth. But Doc, quothe the Beatles: "But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow." Also give me one instance where John Stossel has lied or intentionally misled people.

What is wrong with China? They are never at war with anyone, they are not killing the planet, all of their people have the best health care in the world, their workers are never mistreated, and the wrong people are never elected in china.
If you ask me china is the most perfect country in the history of the earth.

Dude, you've already done the whole "China is great" thing in another thread and then gave up saying you were just joking. You're not fooling anyone. At any rate you don't sound like you know what the hell you're talking about even if you're joking or are serious.

I'm not the most well informed person, but I'm pretty sure none of that is true. Knock it off with the trolling, asshole.

OK. Seriously, don't you guys remember when Doc Who pretty much flat out revealed that he has Asperger's Syndrome. Like Johnny_Short_Torso/Principal_Skin_Trade/Rhodes_Watson/Shelly_Marsh/Crazy_88(all one person), let him foam at the mouth, let him post a few direct brain-to-keyboard spasms, and give him a wide berth.

I vaguely recall that, but isn't Asperger's Syndrome a form of high-functioning autism marked by an inability to comprehend social conventions and relate to people, and restrictive/repetetive behavior patterns? Like a form of extreme social awkwardness? That doesn't sound like this. This sounds closer to schizophrenia or mania.

Either way it's hilarious. I'm convinced he's being facetious on some sublime level, like that guy who wrote Full Life Consequences.

Rather once he gets started on a certain subject, he will not relent, and the thread becomes a mobius strip. Employing logic and reason, even mixed with a little light ridicule will not bring the point across. A Troll's main goal and function is to bait and cuase conflict. Doc just gets revved up, and can't see when he's digging a larger and larger hole.

Michael Moore has never tried to misrepresent himself as a journalist.
He calls his films "documentaries." By the Academy's own standards, that is factually untrue.
