bikes are loud because they let people know they are around. People listening to loud music would change lanes and kill the bikes if they weren't loud.

There's no evidence to support that assertion.

There is also no evidence that loud pipes don't save lives either.

There is also no evidence that people swerve into the path of a biker because he has stupid loud pipes either..

we could go on all day...

For some reason in my hometown, there was this attitude among hum-drum  car drivers that it was okay to be as rude and reckless as possible around bikers. I recall in the mid-80s that there were dozens of serious to fatal accidents involving bikes and cars each month for a few years. It must have made a big impact on me because I'm super careful around bikers. Even a light-weight ,97 Altima can demolish a Harley Fatboy and the guy riding it.

I love bikes, personally. I think they're beautiful machines worthy of admiration. I don't know anymore that I'd want to own and ride one, however. I'm paranoid enough over my safety in a car much less a bike, so I'm content to admire from afar. I get amused by how bikers notice me noticing their bike and they think I'm ga-ga over themCheesy

Laughed pretty hard at tonights episode.

Cartman as Glenn Beck was perfect.

Loved the ending, Avatar rips off so many books and other movies it isn't funny.

Here in the city riding a bike is a dangerous game. No one uses their signals to make left turn across traffic, let alone to switch lanes. Which is why it amazes me that it's still legal for bikes to actually ride between lanes.

What books and movies does Avatar rip off? I'm not familiar with it at all, and thought that it actually looked pretty original just from the previews.

There is a lot of comparisons to Ferngully: The Last Rain Forest. Also there is this:

There are also major similarities to the book Midworld by Alan Dean Foster.  The overall plot is nearly the same, lush planet covered in thick forest, greedy human invaders that want to destroy the forest for a precious material, native live forms fighting back....

Cartman as Glenn Beck was perfect.

Gleen talked about it on his radio show today. They played Cartman clips and Glenn Loved it. He thought it was funny. One of his cohorts told him about the plot and such. But Glenn laughed at the jokes about him. He thought they were funny.

So it's almost, exactly, sorta' kinda' like five or six different things that came before it? Isn't that kinda' like saying that The Simpsons already did it?  Wink

The thing is, Cameron went on about how "original" it was back when the first trailer was released, so of course people are going to call him on that.

well that was a disappointing season finale. especially after episodes like dances with smurfs, whale whores and the coon. Undecided
