There is of course a bunch of games out there and its hard to keep up with them all. Some FPS Light Gun games like James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace, Conduit, or Onslaught come highly recomended. Whereas the dozen or so Cabela game's are universally considered crap. I'm not sure how Red Steel or World at War play, but I imagine they blur the line pretty good as to what a traditional light gun game can be. I wasnt a fan of Umbrella Chronicles, and although Ghost Squad is fun its not that deep. The mini game on Wii Play that drew a lot of comparisons to Duck Hunt is cool but really all that did was make me want a real 'Duck Hunt' game. There are other games too like Target Terror and Mad Dog McCree that on on my list of cheap games to grab.

Aybody have a some favorite light gun games?

Target Terror was a fun quick play. I liked the old arcade feel and for someone who generally hates shooters, it was quick enough that I didn't get bored. My bf keeps hinting that he wants Dead Space for xmas so I"m pretty sure I'll be playing that soon.

Do they have a game where you actually have to aim or is still aim the on-screen crosshair type gameplay? I rented umbrella chronicles and was disappointed to find that there wasn't any correlation to where I would "aim" the wii-mote visually and where the crosshair would show up.

It would be perfectly possible to force the user to actually aim by having the user indicate where the top left and lower right of their screen is.

House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return did that, but I could never seem to get the damned thing to work properly.

Forgot to list my favorites lol. The best light gun game is Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (in arcade mode) followed very closely by House of the Dead: Overkill. Then your gonna wanna pick up Wild West Guns from Wiiware. After that you're gonna wanna get House of the Dead 2 & 3: Returns and Link's Crossbow training.
