A lot of forums have the option to unsubscribe from threads.  So a thread you have posted in will not show up when you hit the "show new replies" link.

Any way you can turn this on for the Round Table?  If not please think about trying to install it for the next update...

OK I get mail notifications only so I'm not sure if this works the same for if you use the "show new messages" function or not.

However, if you click on your profile you'll see there is a section called "Modify Profile" which has a link entitled "Notifications and Email". If you click on that it will give you a list of all the threads you have subscribed to (by posting a message in or even if you've just requested to keep tabs on it). You can select the thread you wish to unsubscribe from and click "unsubscribe".

In theory that should do it but you might want to give it a go and let me know if it works. Smiley

Yeah, I usually either just don't post in a topic I don't want to see come up over and over, or go and delete all my posts (as in the Star Trek XI thread) when I find myself drawn in over and over.

Since I don't have any email notifications turned on I don't get a list of threads in "notifications and email".  So that won't do it.

If the feature is there for notifications then maybe there's hope it can be implimented for the "show new replies" option as well?

Looks like the boards I go to that have this feature are all powered by vBuliten, none by SMF

I might do the delete thing in the Star Trek thread, but there's a few others I've just lost intrest in but don't want to delete my posts....

If the unsubscribe option isn't possible maybe add the option to show all your posts in a topic so you can delete them all without having to manually search 100+ pages.

Yeah, i think the best thing to do is just ignore the thread.  Engaging in polite discourse is one thing, entering into a mobius strip of a conversation with someone who will not let it go is entirely another.

My brain doesn't have that feature. You must be running Brain 2.2.

I usually check the threads I want to look at and then just hit the "mark as read" button to ignore the rest.  However I would also be interested in some kind of unsubscribe feature.  If we had one members might actually be a bit more active because like MartyS (Gromit) said, sometimes people won't bother posting just because they don't want it to show up in the new replies section.
