We export VODs with Adobe CS4 in h.264/mp4 format. I recommend Premiere Pro CS4 very highly. If you really want it, you can get it. Setting it up is a bit tricky, but I know how to do that as well. That's all I'm gonna say.

Earlier today, I got a request for me to send in a W-9 form before I could commit any files, so I FAXed it over to them.  I have since gotten a link to "commit" my file, but it sent me back to the "Upload Files" section.  So, I am going to try submitting the file again, and hopefully it will go through this time.  If the W-9 form was the problem, I don't know why I wasn't instructed to send one before now.

I'm still wondering how long it should normally take for a VOD file to upload.  I matched all of the video settings to those required by RiffTrax, so it shouldn't need to be transcoded.  But, for all I know, it may be in the transcoding pile anyway.  Where can I find the "Manage iRiffs Files" page?

I think that's a new rule as we were able to sell long before we ever properly filled out our W-9 forms.  The upload time is tricky as the uploading itself is usually tricky.  It is constantly being disabled or malfunctioning.  It can take a while though depending on the file size.  Then it may need transcoded which takes even longer.

As I said before the "Manage iRiff Files" tab can be found after clicking on one of the "edit" buttons for an iRiff.  If you click "my iRiffs" from the dropdown list under “My Account” back at Rifftrax.com you will see a list of your products and next to them are two buttons.  The right one, with the eraser, is the "Edit" button.  If you are viewing your iRiff's product page it will be just above the “Related Questions” box to the right and it is labeled “Edit.”  It is worth note that you have no doubt been to the “Manage iRiff Files” page several times and it is what you would probably call the “upload page.”

I don't know why my response on this thread wound up on DogKnob's thread, as I was trying to respond to the comments posted here and not complain about my problems on someone else's announcement of their own iRiff.  Anyway, for those who might be able to offer me any advice, I will repeat what I accidentally said there...

It's been over 24 hours and my first iRiff video STILL hasn't finished uploading.  I'm wondering if it's actually in the process of uploading, or if it's not going through for some reason.  Should it really be taking this long?  It says on the upload page that it "Could take up to 24 hours for your file to finish transcoding", but my file matches iRiff's requirements so it shouldn't need transcoding.  Also, I was told that I would receive notice if my file needed transcoding after it uploaded...but, of course, it hasn't even uploaded yet.  Shouldn't there be a progress bar showing how long it will take?  All it says on my screen is "Upload Progress  FST-GSM.mp4  Uploading..."

I wouldn't mind the waiting if I knew that I was doing this correctly and that it WILL eventually upload.  I can't click on the edit link for the file to see if it's uploaded or is transcoding, because there is no file for me to attempt to edit at this point.  Erik and the other guy (can't recall the name, maybe because I never hear from him) never respond to my messages.  Connor has even sent me a copy of a message he sent to them asking them to contact me, and I still never hear from either of them.  All I can do is keep my web browser running and hope that SOMETHING eventually happens, one way or the other.

It says on the screen "DO NOT LEAVE THIS PAGE WHILE UPLOADING".  I wasn't sure if that meant I couldn't open other pages with the web browser while it was uploading, so I avoided using the internet all day, but I finally decided that I needed to seek some more advice.  I hope that it will keep uploading as long as I don't actually CLOSE that particular page, but if not, I just can't afford to keep my web browser tied up indefinitely.  If this file ever does go through, I've got two more to upload as well, so I could be at this all week from the looks of it!  Once again, I'll wait as long as I can if that's what it takes (although we've got a storm coming in the next day or so, and the power goes out whenever we have a storm, and my back-up battery only lasts so long), but once again, I wish I at least knew if I was doing this right.

I have had increasing troubles in getting my iRiffs uploade to the site as well.  The past couple of times I have tried mulitiple times and from mulitple computers to get it uploaded before it finally "took".  It does not appear to have anything to do with the transcoding or really any discernable explanation.  I suggest you do as I do. Try it again, try uploading from a different computer and see if you have any better success.

I only have one computer, but fortunately, I was finally able to get the file uploaded (without transcoding).  Someone mentioned that using FoxFire as your web browser was the most compatible, so you might want to try that, although I managed to get through it on Explorer.
