Don't tell me how it ends!   I want to know if the ship successfully makes the voyage across the Atlantic.
That reminds me of a friend of mine that I saw Romeo+Juliet with (HORRIBLE movie), who was disappointed at the ending. She didn't know it was a tragedy.

Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy?  Then why was I laughing so hard by the end of it?
Because it was so incredibly stupid. Speaking old English in modern day? Retarded. Having gangbanger punk kids yelling old English during a shootout? Hysterical!

And not ONCE did anyone snap their fingers or do a pirouette. Rubbish.

I applaud Kevin bring back the "I'm gonna sink this bitch" line. The only problem I have with watching the Rifftrax for movies that go longer than two hours is that my sides hurt so much halfway through that I can't continue laughing even when I want to. And I hate pausing both the movie and trax in order to take a break because it feels like the mood is gone.

Damn funny rifftrax, though.

This was pretty much the most epic Rifftrax moment ever.  Especially since he didn't say it during the shot of the Captain where it was originally said lo those many years ago.  I was gripping hard waiting for him and to say it.  Once that shot passed I was all like Cry but then he DID say it and I was all like WOO HOO!!!  Awesome.

I guess this might be one huge reason why I haven't been able to watch any Titanic movies (And I admit I cannot watch Titanic without it making me cry, but not because of what happened to Leo's fictional character.)  but I just keep thinking of all those people, men, women and perhaps children who either drowned or froze to death. What a horrible way to go. Even to this day there are relatives of survivors who cannot put their ancestors to rest. Could you just imagine the hell it must have been to have either died or been a survivor on the lifeboats hearing the roar of the Titanic as she sunk and the screams of people drowning?

From some of the documentaries I've seen, there were plenty of lifeboats that had enough room that they could have gone back and taken in more people from the water but didn't.

So some people had no problem listening to the screams.   Sad

I was watching an In Search Of...video about the sinking of the Titanic which had an interview with a survivor of the Titanic who was just a little girl at the time. She'd spoken of how she and her mother had spoken of horrible the roar from the dying engines and the screams of dying people were. It's entirely possible that people in the sparsely populated lifeboats were too scared to go back into the bowels of that watery hell.

Don't know since i haven't seen it. I don't think I will though because though I've tried, and I'm unclear why, I could never sit through the movie without crying.

I've gotten a little emotional watching Titanic in the past: never about Rose and Jack, though.  It's the ship - watching that beautiful piece of architecture and engineering trying and failing to hold together under the strain, it gets me every time.  But when you watch it with the Rifftrax, it's different.  It really is "just a movie", and the emotional connection is short-circuited.  You're watching actors in costume and "Ones and zeroes" (lots of fun with the CGI effects).

The only thing about the riff that I found disappointing -- the ONLY thing that always bugs me about this movie -- is that they ignored the signs on the railings that FACE OUTWARD toward the cameras. Who's going to read a sign that tells people to beware the danger of leaning over the rails, when they're hanging in mid-air off the side of the ship??? Huh

but now it will be tears of laughter...

seriously it is a hilarious riff that cuts out all emotionalness of the movie and turns it on its ear. I was laughing long and hard at this. I may just watch it again Saturday..

If you are talking about the signs on the stern that warn that the ship has 3 props, I think those are for tugboats, warning them to stay away from the props while guiding the ship in or out of port.   There were not many  3 prop ships back then, and Titanic had big ones.

Ah. Funny place to put them, though. Something like 50 or so feet above the level where a tug crew could see them. Still, it makes some sense now. Thanx.

Yea, I thought that also, guess they figured tugboat captains had good eyesight and could read a 3 foot square sign from far enough away to stay safe.  But as we know, they cut corners while building the ship so that's a more likely explanation (cheapness).
