This should guarantee a whole new generation of colossally-bad movies. Actually, there was probably a 90% chance of that anyway but this seals the deal.

How could he be broke?  He's in every third movie released by Hollywood.  How could he have lost all the money?!  Well more Rifftrax coming i guess.

Cage claimed that his recently-fired business manager had failed to pay taxes when they were due and had placed him in speculative and risky real estate investments "resulting in (the actor) suffering catastrophic losses."

That's how it happens.

This manager could have been a mini-Bernie Madoff.

He should try and make some extra money here as a guest riffer. That would be interesting.

Up at the "General Discussion" line, the "Last Post" entry read "Nicolas Cage broke!!..."  I read that as meaning Nicolas Cage had broken down mentally, perhaps in some kind of public collapse, and did not think of the alternative meaning until I read the subject header here.

Does this mean I've been following Rifftrax too much?  Or just enough?

Sadly, it's all too easy to believe Cage had bad judgment in picking a financial advisor, given his track record with picking scripts.

And now I'll leave all the other jokes to you.  Don't want to be greedy.

That sucks. I hate it when successful actors or actresses are doing badly financially because of crap like this. It prevents them from being able to do any roles that could possibly improve their acting, and have to take bad movies for the paycheck. And the audience suffers. Cage may have become a joke now, but he used to be able to do good acting in interesting roles. Now he won't take that chance.

The last time I was happy to see Nicholas Cage in anything it was as Fu Manchu in the Werewolf Women of the SS trailer. Dude, you did your best work in five years for Rob Zombie! Get your &$%# together!

I wonder that about wealthy people too.  I guess they're just as capable of reckless spending as all us normal Joes, they just do it on a larger scale.

At worst, he has to start doing more things for himself... I gotta ask so what? What's wrong with living like an ordinary person anyways? I mean come on it's not that bad. Some people actually enjoy doing things for themselves as opposed to paying someone else to do it for them. I've heard of rich people who were so lazy they paid their servants to take a vacation for them instead of going on it themselves.

It appears his ruin may not be due entirely  to a shady manager.
