I got a menu-less reauthor through ReJig, with the SUP files, but that only shows the forced subs during foreign language scenes.  So I've narrowed down the forced subtitle track, but I can't get it into a DVD Lab project.

Here are the subtitle tracks I extracted.

SUB Format.
SUP Format.

The SUP file should let you add forced subtitles through a ReJig reauthor.  Right now, I'm struggling to get them into my DVD Lab menu reauthor.

I got tired of trying to deal with player generated subtitles. When ever I rip my files the timecodes are always screwed up on the m2v file. When I use any of the GOP time code fixing programs I have, the subs never match up. I am going for hard subtitles on the video. I tried it once before and since it was encoding new video with the subs it would throw the audio out of sync. All those other times I was trying to do it with the audio separated from the video. Well I tried it again but this time I was editing a fully muxed mpeg file and lo and behold everything seems to be in sync. Granted I did it with a sample video not the full 6.5 gb version but it is promising. Here is what I did as a test:

That being said does anyone have a srt file of the subs that I can read with a text editor. I tried to open the ones that Thrifty put up but no dice. I wanna type as little as possible.

I've got an .srt of the forced subs. Only problem is that it reads all lower case L's as upper case i's. Other than that it's good.

EDIT: I just realized that you're probably talking about the Collectors edition. I don't have that right now. It'll be about a week before it comes in the mail from blockbuster.

I don't think it's any sort of collector's edition.  This is one I got from Netflix.

Oh, I was talking to Torso.

Anyway, you use DVDLab Pro 2 right? If what you used was the two sided non anamorphic DVD then I can just send you the *.sp1 file if you like.

Ooh.  Even better than an SRT.  Thanks.

I just need them as text so I can cut an paste into my video editor to burn the subs to the video. The only difference in the subs between the collectors and the standard is that the Months are not player generated subs, they are actually on the print.  Your other post in the other thread is great and just what I need.

I gave up. Just made an Xvid AVI file from the DVD and got the subtitles online, and that's it. I already spent too much time trying to figure this out  Embarrassed
