About a third of the film is guys talking in Russian or Spanish, but they forgot to add subtitles so I would have some decent idea what they're talking about.
I'm watching the unriffed version. It's not so much cheesy as it is dull and directionless. Like I imagine a meeting like this:
Director: "Let's make a movie about the Soviets invading America. We can get some really popular actors to star." Other Guy: "Cool. Then what?" Director: "Umm.............................................................."
And a few months later, Red Dawn is released.

Maybe the forced subs are turned off.

Is Swayze in it? Did you get the subs about going to the sporting goods store and getting the names of gun owners? If so, it's the right movie.
I thought it was fairly funny, there were a lot of lines and line deliveries that were amusing (in the movie itself).

Depending on what version you've got, you might want to try turning on closed-captioning. The special edition I have actually has subtitles in the closed-captioning, one of the few times I've ever seen that done. Which is good, because I forgot to rip the subtitles and would have had to reburn the whole thing otherwise.

Looks like the subtitles were there in the original DVD, but not my reauthor. I usually don't include subs in my reauthors; and usually, if the movie has foreign language in it, the subtitles are part of the movie, not a special track on the DVD. This is gonna take some time to figure out.

Is what they're saying really that important?

That happened the first time we ripped it as well. There's a way to do it, I think people have posted about it before.

If someone finds any thread where they mention how to get these things working, I would be much happy.

All the Star Wars flicks use subtitles for the alien languages. It is a money saving feature. They can use the same transfer for all other regions.

I'm working on it, and I'll write something up as soon as I figure it out.

I simply ripped the "forced" English subtitle, had to change the .sub to .sup for rejig to like it..... I am burning here in a few to see if it works. I doubt it will "force" the subtitle though, but I am okay hitting an extra button on my remote if it even works at ALL.

I managed to get a subtitles working for my ReJig only reauthor using the .SUP subtitles I reference in this post. It works as a standard reauthor but I can't get it to work with my menus.

I couldn't agree with you more. BORING! I was hoping Torgo would show up and liven up the proceedings.
