Me and my friend have just started riffing and we are wondering how we can edit out the background noise coming from the movie itself so that we are only recording your commentary since we are only going to be selling our audio by itself without the movie. Should we just keep the volume of the film low and keep our voices high or should we use Wavepad editor(program we are using) to just editing out the background noise? Is this type of editing possible with this program? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Yes headphones are a really good idea. Plus what sort of mic are you using?

headphones really would be the best solution.  Anything you'd use to remove the sound after the fact is sure to distort the rest of your sound.

If for some odd reason you have no headphones, you could just mute the sound all together and have the subtitles showing.
