Poll
Question: Would you watch a riff of a black & white film?
If it's good, it doesn't matter. I'll watch it.
Black & white irritates me the way subtitles do.
Color only. Black & white = OLD AND/OR PRETENTIOUS!

It seems that there is an increasing number of people who will refuse to watch anything that is not in color, regardless of its content or when it was made. My partner and I have a great print of a public domain B/W film that nobody has done on RiffTrax and we have written a lot of great riffs for it. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone will even consider watching it. I'd really appreciate to hear this community weigh in on this topic, hence this stupid poll. Thanks for voting!

I don't have a problem with B&W movies, but I've also met several people who refuse to watch them. If you've already written a bunch of great riffs for it, I'd say go for it. I'm sure most of the customers who frequent this site wouldn't reject a film choice just because it's B&W. In fact, some customers might like it just because they won't have to worry about syncing it up. On your next iRiff, maybe you could try riffing a movie that syncs up with a Legend Films DVD. That way you can still do commentary tracks for B&W material and the haters can just watch your riff with the colorized version.

Believe it or not, there are people out there who prefer black and white films.  However, good black and white films, not public domain riffs.  Even so, I'd still watch it.  I'd say give it a go.

Riffing knows no bounds. If it can riff on claymation and home movie-caliber filming, then it certainly can work just as well on B&W as color. Anyone who can't appreciate a movie just because it's B&W needs to take either a film or art appreciation class to crack open those closed minds.
