Bumi, you're a mad genius

Please, do not get me wrong.  Mike, Kevin and Bill are still as awesome as in their MST3K/SyFy days.  But...does it seem to everybody else that RiffTrax is suffering from a strang inability to finish trilogies?  I mean, the only trilogy I can see that they have a RiffTrax for all of them is the Star Wars prequel threesome.  Everything else...nothing yet.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King? Nowhere
Matrix Revolutions?  Invisible
Return of the Jedi?  Well, they just did Empire Strikes Back so I'll give them some time on that
X3 - X-Men: The Last Stand?  How is that turd NOT riffed yet?!?

Now before you start in on the Spider-Man trilogy, I remind you that "SM2" was, technically, a "RiffTrax Presents" because Kevin and Bill did it sans Mike...so that doesn't count.

Whazzup, fellahs?  Can't you guys finish what you started?  When can we expect these trilogies to be completed...if ever?

What do ya think, sirs?

Hopefully they won't go back to the wells for a long time.  I think once a year is fine for a Potter riff or a Star Wars riff.  There are so many, many, many movies out there to be riffed that I would be perfectly fine if they never riffed a sequel to a movie they have riffed again.

I'd count it. A RiffTrax presents is still, technically, a RiffTrax.

Yeah, seriously. "doesn't count?" So what, you want them to re-riff it?

Also - man, I always prefer a new movie/franchise to a sequel.

Agreed.  I wonder if the guys feel it's a little tougher to do, because there's always the obstacle of being there before and certain types of jokes you don't want to repeat.

I just think of them as sure things that the guys can go to when they want. Spacing them out seems like a good idea. They'll get to them eventually, but the variety they have had so far is very much appreciated.

They have said in the past that Star Wars anything is money in the bank. So I was a little surprised that we got Empire so soon after A New Hope.

I'm more surprised we haven't had one of the Ewok movies yet.

I assumed they'd check out the Ewok movies after Return of the Jedi. Heck, they already did the Holiday Special. Why not?

Oh, and the Spider-Man 2 riff definitely counts.

Is that like when Mike is opening gifts on Christmas morning with his presents, making jokes about them?

Well we wanted to work with the Blame Society guys on it, and just based on the project coming together, that's how it turned out.  I hope it's a while before we dive back in to StarWarsLand

Ahh, the Ewok Adventure.  I can remember when I was 7 or so when it premiered on tv, I genuinely liked it at the time.  However, I also genuinely liked Police Academy 3:  Back In Training at the time, so clearly my tastes needed some sort of honing.

I hope they return to the Potter, X-Men, and Star Trek films at some point (as well as the Twilight saga eventually).  Those have been some of my favorite riffs.  But there is no reason to rush anything.
