So how do you extract these stingers? I somehow made one through Pinnacle Studio, but I kinda stumbled into it.
I'm gonna see if I can find some sort of user's group and instructions for Pinnacle. It bugs me that I made that Battlefield Earth stinger but don't know how.
I use Womble Mpeg video player. Its really easy. It allows me to load the original VOB file ripped straight from the dvd into the program. As long as you don't separate the video & audio files it works beautifully. I usualy 'normalized' the audio to up the volume and add a fade. The program does not re-encode so it takes a couple of minutes to create a stinger.
Alternatively Mpg2Cut2 (freeware) does a decent job... can't add fades... but it lets you cut a portion out pretty easily. Course, its freeware so it does crash a little too much. But anytime you're trying to work directly with an mpeg file its never an elegant process.
