I don't have an MP3 player so I'm dependent on the Rifftrax player. Last night I downloaded it, installed it and bought Star Wars Ep. I. It began by working beautifully (Hysterical commentary by the way), I couldn't finish it because I was too tired so I stopped it and slept. This morning I tried to open the .riff file and there was an error message. It didn't want to work. Why? Why the lame inconsistancies? Could someone help? If it means anything to anybody I have Microsoft XP home edition 2002 version service pack 3. INTEL Atom CPU. Just the stock video card that came w/ the lap top. Does everybody have this problem of the playing being stubborn? Thanks

I assume you mean 'dont have an ipod', remember you could always just play the mp3 in itunes or something.

As for the Rifftrax player, try downloading / updating stuff, good rule of thumb for computer problems. Maybe uninstall the player and reinstall it, or get some driver updates. Just guessing though, thats what I would do (aside from maybe upgrading XP to something more modern).

I've given up on the player.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and when it does there's usually some drift.  Syncing it up myself is much less hassle and usually results in a better sync.  I just load up the Trax in WMP and play the DVD in Media Player Classic.

Since we have limited resources, we have stopped active development on the player (which never went beyond Beta, hence the "lame inconsistencies"). We have plans for a better player, not built on the same software at all, which should have a better track record than the one we've got.

Star Wars Episode 1?  Sounds like you just got a defective Rifftrax.
