New Moon on Friday and Rifftrax through the night

Say, do you want to see the miniseries of Colour of Magic? Well, it's on the Ion network, well, right now.

Yeah, yeah. I didn't find out about it until now either.

CoM was a pretty good one, despite Sean Astin. At least it didn't have that fuckstick who played Teatime in Hogfather. His name shall not be spoken, for everything he touches turns to dust and ash. :p

Well, that and David Jason was -horribly- miscast as Rincewind.  The man's supposed to be a student, not an octogenarian.  It wasn't nearly as good as Hogfather, despite Chaos' fuckstick.

Actually, I believe you'll find that Rincewind was quite a bit older than a student, as he had made a career of continually failing (not intentionally). I agree that he shouldn't have been an old man, but he also wasn't 20... he was more like in his 30s or maybe even 40s.

I always imagined him as a youngish Nigel Planer, personally.

You know for a voice Jason is great, he has some of the right stuff (Planer has a similar voice) but physically he's not the best choice for Rincewind.

Oh and I get notifications of new threads via email but I didn't see that this one was in TV so at first I was worried because...

Yeah, I know, I thought the same thing, Tripe.

Wait, you get notifications for -all- new threads? Doesn't that get a bit...spammy?

Not all threads, just on a few of the sub boards

But I have an email set up for board notifications for this and other forums so none of them clutter up my actual email address. Smiley

You know, it's funny. Despite it being contrary to how he's described in the book, the movie totally captured how I envision Rincewind when I'm reading him. I know it's not the Rincewind that's supposed to be there, but he is pitch-perfect when sized up against the Rincewind in my head. :^)

I'm a lot more influenced by Kidby's Rincewind.

Word. I was waiting for someone to say that. Smiley

They also got the spindly figure and scraggly beard pretty much dead-on in those games, too.
