Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but in case anyone is wondering, YouTube did eventually reinstate my KING KONG Preview.  I took a few months, and they never notified me of its reinstatement.  I just kept re-visiting the website every once in awhile until I noticed that the iRiff clips had been restored.  So, if anyone else runs into this problem, just follow the advice given in previous posts and your clips should reappear on YouTube eventually.

So would it help at all if in our video descriptions we specifically stated how it falls under fair use as parody?

No.  It's a program that uses video recognition software to identify copyright infringers.  It has absolutely nothing to do with text.

I don't know if this is still true and I don't really know what this means but if you "mirror" your video it is enough to fool the system.  Heard about this a while ago so maybe they've caught on to it and to be honest I don’t know what “mirroring” a video is or what that would look like.

For a while now at YouTube when I check "my videos" it says they only have a .5 star rating.  This just happened suddenly and I assumed it was some glitch that would fix on its own soon but it still hasn't.  None of my videos have less than a four star rating and when I check the video itself, not just the list under "my videos," the rating is the same as it was before.  Does anyone know what I should do or what's wrong?  Or even if this has happened to them.  And if someone were just watching random videos would mine show up as only having half a star?

They all show up with 4 or 5 stars when I go to your channel.
As for mirroring... if the name suggests anything I think it means you flip the image around on the vertical axis so it is the mirror image of itself.  That way it doesn't match the image in youtube's software.  Sounds like a pretty easy thing for youtube to adjust their software to check for.  I wouldn't be surprised if they've fixed that by now.

Hopefully the Rifftrax guys will tell us when the below will be available, as YouTube has now completely removed our Friday Part 2 track samples.  We're about to start the long drawn out dispute process that so far was unsuccessful for our Monster Squad and My Bloody Valentine clips.  I hate YouTube and can't wait until we can focus on our tracks and not that some studio is concerned that our 3 minute clip will cost them millions of dollars.  Arrr!

Lately torgosPizza has been referencing a big site upgrade.  I would like to know if they have an ETA on that and if our new feedback feature will be premiering with it.

I would also be interested on if iRiffs will ever be able to upload their trailers or samples as apposed to dealing with youtube, in the forseeable future.

Yes.

I've been wondering about the whole sample on youtube thing.  If you look at the links for rifftrax's samples they point to a flv file and on ours they link to our youtube link.
rifftrax sample link
http://www.rifftrax.com/displaythickbox?file=Titanic_sample.flv&width=500&height=400

iriff sample link
http://www.rifftrax.com/displaythickbox?file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng8WguYjSa8&width=500&height=400

My point being that that the link after file= just has to point to an flv (flash video).  So I'm wondering if you could upload to some alternative video site or even to your personal website and just put the link in for that.  If I understand what I'm seeing in these links, all that really matters is that you give them the url of a flash video.  So I would suggest that if you have your own web space, try uploading your videos to that and try using the url for your sample.  Worse that could happen is you find out that it doesn't work.  If it does work though, you don't have to worry about youtube's crap anymore.

Nope, won't work since (at the moment) we have hard-coded in there which domains to look for (in your example, youtube).

In the near future (read: hopefully, sometime this month, although that may change with all the live stuff we have to prepare) you'll be able to upload them to the server along with the rest of your product info, but that is still a work in progress.

I'll bookmark this thread so I remember to update you guys when we've finished adding that functionality.

By the way, does anyone know if the number of views your video receives on YouTube include views from the RiffTrax website?  Or do you have to view the video directly on YouTube for it to be counted on the number of views your video receives?

I'm pretty sure (about 95% sure) they count the views from the Rifftrax website.  Otherwise mine probably would have never gotten any to start with.
