While playing my brand new "Night Of The Living Dead--3 Riffer Version" and received the following error message:

Quote
An exception was raised on the server: Access violation at address 004048B6 in module 'ComX.exe'. Read of address 000FAFE9.

Otherwise the file plays all right.

Sounds like you are running Vista. Right click the shortcut and select Run as administrator on the player shortcut. If this works right click on the player shortcut, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, enable Run this program as an administrator and click OK. With the Compatibility setting you can just double click the short cut to start the player. If you get a UAC pop-up when running as administrator just click Allow.

Hope this helps.

Been getting the same issue here with trying to load Star Wars episode IV on my computer. Same exact error, word for word. And I'm not running Vista, running XP Service Pack 3

I am also having the same issue (Access violation at address 004048B6...').

System: XP Pro w/ SP3, Athlon XP 2200+, 1.5GB RAM
Movie: Jaws
DVD: Widescreen Anniversary Collection (real DVD)
RiffTrax Player: Up to date (no updates available as of April 2, 2009 13:15 EDT)

Codecs updated from codecguide.com.  Movie does play fine in other DVD players.

I'm having the same exact error when trying to watch the Dark Knight. When I load the Riff, I get that error. The DVD and the Riff play fine, so it's not a huge deal.

Also, I tried running as an administrator and that didn't do anything.

After upgrading to the latest version of the player I get the same error after any riff loads, but close the error box and everything seems OK, except for Jaws, that one seems to be off by 2 seconds throughout the entire movie, several others I've tried work fine after the error message.
