Well, I'll need to go back to Volume 1 and study the layout of the room, but it looks spot-on

Building more anticipation: Crazy Roxy! and my girl, Kim! *melts* I enjoyed one of the comments below the latter of the two photos from Edgar's photo-blog, someone posted: "is this gonna be a good adaptation? cause i hope it will be."w/ Edgar's response: "I was aiming to truly disappoint. But now you’ve said that, I will put in a bit more effort."Is there any doubt on just how cool this is going to be?

I saw the 5th video blog, which is cool, because Bryan Lee O'Malley's on the set and they're visiting the actually comic locations (nice of whoever owned that house that Scott's birthplace came from to let them use it).

I hate the Clash at Demonhead (fuck the hipsters) but must say, seeing their merch makes my fanboy-heart soar w/ glee (and Lee's Palace is intact!)... This cannot be right, Kim's smiling?!? .... And it's Knives & Young Neil... This isn't any longer a question... Wonderfully fun source material + Edgar Wright = the most excited I've been for a movie, ever?
...it is.

I've just read volumes 1 and 2 over the weekend, I trust in Edgar but I really wonder if Micheal Cera has the character (or even a second character) in him.

I believe the majority of us Pilgrim fans share the same concern w/ Cera as Scott. He'll assuredly pull off Scott's awkward tendencies, but can he pull off the overall "cool" factor of the character? I've, as well, placed 100% faith in Edgar, and he must have seen something that the general public hasn't. However, I'm more concerned w/ Edgar using source material from the entire six volume (even though the sxith hasn't been published yet) run. Like I've expressed somewhere in this thread, I wish the material would've been separated into two works (vs. the World/vs. the Universe).
Scott, what did you think of the first two volumes? You can't imagine just how crazy fun and melancholic the third volume is. I think it's the best of the bunch, and has such a bitchin' climax.

Well, I think that it will be a great movie, but I think the reason so many people are worried about Michael Cera as Scott, is that while Michael is a great actor, he generally downplays his performances and plays shy, quiet people. Scott Pilgrim is a character largely inspired by manga characters of Shonen (or boy) comics, who are generally loud, boastful (but in a charming sort of way), dumb (or very naive or odd or all three) and anything but subtle. This character type is common in manga like Dragonball (especially the early and good years) and One Piece (the writer of which admits "the person who yells the loudest is probably going to be the one to win the fight). Now that's not to say Scott is an unoriginal character, but he is certainly influenced by those who came before and those are characters who are very overt in their emotional expressions. So it's a very different kinda character that Cera is used to. I feel very confident that he can pull it off.
Also, if you check out the new video blog on the site, one of the guys from Sloan is the musical coordinator. Cool! It's like it's the nineties again.

That's debatable. Also, if you check out the new video blog on the site, one of the guys from Sloan is the musical coordinator. Cool! It's like it's the nineties again.
I've gotta get around to the video blogs. I was thrilled w/ one frame of many to date, for which Edgar captured, that had Scott wearing his patented Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt. God, they're keeping it real.

Yeah, my issue with is that I think he's a staggeringly limited actor from what I've seen so far and I don't think he has the charm to pull off the role (but I trust Edgar so I'm looking forward to being proved wrong)
TeamRAD , I liked how effortlessly charming and engaging the story was. I honestly forgot about the fights until the first one started but the characters just completely drew me in.

Yeah, I think it's very impressive how while emulating a manga style, it doesn't feel like another tepid North American knock off like pretty much comic trying to ape a manga style. He isn't so much trying to directly emulate the art itself (though there are definite influences) but manages to mix it with a more down to Earth love story without feeling like the two styles are clashing. (Contrasting maybe, but not clashing). Also, Scott is definitely a very likable character, for all of his faults.

EDIT: Crap. I was thinking Twin Peaks, but it still works kinda, Twin Pines Mall from Back to the Future, little obscure. Oh well.
