Every time I try to Uninstall the player, the installer says it is removing the software. After a while it times out saying it has encountered a problem. If I get tired of waiting for it, and try to cancel the uninstall, it freezes. The only way I can shut off the installer is by killing the process in Task Manager.

With as many problems that are on this forum having to do with the installer, I would hope that someone is working on this crap piece of software.

I have the same problem, but there is no reason to be so harsh. Remember, this software is free.

I would suggest the rifftrax people get some volunteers to help beta test software before it gets pushed out.

Moo.

They did, and then this is the open beta.

Harshness is called for.

Once the player was offered I started buying several riffs a week instead of one every once in a while. It became easy and convenient to watch riffed movies, so I bought like a drunken sailor. In these many days of totally fucked software I have bought zero, and will continue to buy zero. That's bad business.

Whoever crafted the last update needs to be demoted to toilet-cleaning duty and/or shipped off to Somalia to promote rifftrax to the 3rd world.

Somebody competent needs to get the damn player working. Rifftrax is lucky I really like this shit and have stuck around waiting and waiting for a fix. I bet there are a shitload of other customers who have given up on it completely by now.

I'm out of this fucker. If rifftrax wants me back as a customer they can give me some free downloads or a hat or something.

Any company who would let their primary software go unfixed for what... like four or five days now, obviously doesn't care if people buy their product or not.

Fuck you Rifftrax!

It's not a "primary software" whatever that is, it's a BETA and it's not the only way to watch Rifftrax.  If you're gonna be that irrational then there is not much anyone can do for you.

Wow. Where to begin?

I'm not sure we'd want to help someone with such a crass and condescending attitude to begin with.

Second of all, we don't have a team of programmers working on this. We know that the update caused a bunch of problems and when it did, we started working on a fix. A fix which, might I add, was posted yesterday and seemed to solve all of the issues. We asked anyone still experiencing problems to tell us what was happening - not to become selfish, angry and rude. So if you're still having problems with the software, why not try something constructive, like telling us what you are experiencing?

We were able to reproduce the problems others were having - and when the fix was posted, they went away.

It has never been our "primary software" and officially it is still a Beta-  you should expect things to break whenever you deal with Beta software. We're sorry that it does happen sometimes, but that's pre-release software for you. I understand that the Player is super convenient, but synching the mp3 up by hand isn't such a big deal that you should feel compelled to come to the forum and start swearing at us. That's pretty childish behavior.

I don't expect you to even read this, so why am I wasting time with a response? Perhaps it can help others who feel like they are owed something when it comes to free, beta, non-stable software. There are other solutions for getting the Player working again, but heaven forbid you have to do some minor reading to find them.

If anyone else feels like they can add to this conversation, feel free.

He emailed support too.  I explained to him that we're in the middle of transferring authorship of the player from external programmers to in house, and while there's bound to be some bumps along the way, it's preparing the player for much better support in the long run.

But sometimes people make up your mind before you even have the chance to help them.

Sometimes people have no mind to make up. That's like buying a new car and getting a free tank of gas, then trying to return the car because the gas ran out.
