A solid 7 star effort. Not my fave or least fave, sort of in between. I like the more relaxed riffing style of SW IV, versus the "in your face" style I've seen with other riffs (eg XMen2). Oceans Eleven was a great example of the relaxed riff style where the viewer can follow the movie AND the riff simultaneously.

That is a very interesting point. I enjoyed this one a lot, but not as much as the Prequels or the Holiday Special. Very solid 8

I gave it an 8 there were a few to many dead spots but the jokes really made me laugh.
I loved all the Porkins jokes.

Finally watched this without the... uh... extra commentary.
I'm giving it a ten, it's one of the strongest all the way through Rifftraxes possibly ever!

It's a short thread, it would have taken you a couple of seconds to look back.

Watched it again, my opinion hasn't changed. It's still one of their weakest efforts.

I only just now got around to trying this one. This joins Titanic, Twilight, Matrix Reloaded, Chamber of Secrets, Battlefield Earth and Empire Strikes Back on my list of 10/10's. Here's to hoping they do Return of the Jedi, and that it's as good as the previous two editions of the original trilogy. "I wasn't reading Popular Mechanics with my pants down!"

Instant classic. By far, the best out of the six Star Wars movie riffs. 9/10

Just finished Ep 4: A New Hope (for the first time). And, uh... yeah... a lot of lowbrow poop/gay robot jokes. In fact, all the Star Wars ones I've seen (Eps 1-4) have more-than-usual excretion gags. Let me repost my first-ever post on this forum (referring to Ep 3): There was a lot in this riff I enjoyed... but my major complaint is that there were a LOT of poop/fart jokes in this. Like, more than usual. Was I just extra sensitive during this one? Am I alone on this?
I feel the same way about Ep IV. In any case, the last half-hour was my favorite. Any and all Porkins jokes were just as hilarious as I heard rumored (they're so genuine with their delivery on it!). When I wanna watch a movie that I like by itself, I usually wind up watching it with RiffTrax anyway. I prob won't do that so much with this one. I had forgotten how goofy A New Hope is (unlike the prequels' stoic pretension... which is perfect riffing fodder), so it didn't totally work for me. Still, there were some great moments, and I would rank it as an 8... or maybe a 7. I'll hold my official vote for after a repeat viewing.

I wouldn't exactly say the prequels were great riffing fodder. All you can really do is say "I hate children" and "I hate humor" and "I hate scenes that try to be exciting" and "I'm going to make fun of the way Yoda talks 20 years later." They acted like every second of the Phantom Menace was stupid. Like a shot of a spaceship was the worst thing they'd ever seen. If it was PERFECT riffing fodder, people would have liked the riff more.
There are some genuinely absurd moments in the saga, like them burning Jawas (WTF!), but it's grasping at straws when they make fun of character and planet names, as if "Naboo" is any stupider than "Chattanooga."

I actually re-watched Phantom Menace (+RT) in light of your dislike (disdain, dis--, oh however you feel about it) as mentioned in my second sentence of that post. Maybe "perfect" riffing fodder was too strong, but you missed my point which was that something taking itself so seriously is easier to riff compared to the more light-hearted, almost innocent tone of the original trilogy. And FWIW, I think Naboo is a far sillier name than Alderan or Tatooine. I can't really explain it (except on a gut level), but that's just me (and apparently Mike and Kevin).
