My main problem with this movie (not the riff) is Harvey Dent's "Anakin Moment"TM, where he turns evil WAY too easily. Otherwise, it's really good.

Someone pointed out this same similarity to me. Both he and Anakin are like the Talking Krusty doll whose switch was flipped from good to evil.

The difference being that Anakin turned before his girl got snuffed out and if he had any brains had several paths in front of him with better outcomes, whereas Harvey had already lost everything and was clearly unstable before Joker arrived to mess with his head. Fast turn, yes, but not quite Ani levels.

Screw that, Harvey didn't even have the balls to go full on evil. I always thought Two Face was a stupid character. Now I know it. And I'm sorry, deciding on a coin flip not to kill somebody, and then deciding that it's okay to kill that guy's driver, which causes the guy you decided could be allowed to live to die anyway... what the hell kind of philosophy is that?
He may have had an Anakin moment, but he was the Eddie Brock, Jr. of the Batman franchise.

Yes, also, to me it seems more a turn to insanity rather than just a turn to evil, the coin flip thing was a part of his personality before his fiancee was blown up and half his face burned off so why not use it to make all your decisions now that one side of the coin was burned (just like his face). Think I'll have to watch the movie a few more times before getting the rifftrax, probably what it will take to not be drawn into the movie and be able to concentrate on the riffs. Later, Marty

His common philosophy was that you, "Make your own luck". A double sided coin where he always knew the outcome. It was his lucky coin, that he kept as a memento.
Hell, in the movie, they called him two-face even before his face got all scared up (although I doubt that's how it was written in the comics, but worked out well in the movie)
He turned evil, because he played by the rules, and everything went wrong, and was taken away from him. Now he's taking matters into his own hands, which he started to do even before everything was taken away.
As for the scene where he kills the driver of the Mob bosses car, that was an awesome scene.
It pretty much shows that even if you happen to win his coin toss, he'll find a way to still get the result he wants. A hollow victory, if you will.
Also, it made a pretty good scene. Takes off his seat belt, so that he can jump out of the car, and shoots the driver.
Plus, it's a Batman movie. It has explosions and stuff, and people flying around, and batman getting bitten by dogs. It's just a fun fiction, with nifty effects.

I thought he was putting on his seat belt so he would survive the crash.

I watched it just the other night, and from what I saw, it looks like he takes off his seatbelt.
Might have to watch it a little closer, but that's the feeling I got. I'll check again.

Two-Face is supposed to be a half-appealing character. Instead they made him into an asshole leprechaun who will find a way to screw you no matter how carefully you word a wish. And Two-Face can survive anything. He just lands on his exposed eyeball and he's a-okay. Chris Nolan wanted to call him "Magic Eye," but the studio feared a lawsuit from the makers of those crappy books in the 90s, and lost sales from anyone who remembered them.

Ah, those annoying 3Dish images you had to stare at, those and fractals, early computer art, I've got a book somewhere from back then on how to write programs to make those things. It is a magic eye, no muscles, tear-ducts, eyelids... and it works and doesn't dry out, I guess the freshness was sealed in by the fire. Guess they had to make some part of this "cartoon" movie cartoonish. Both the joker and two-face were turned much darker for this movie, so it does fit the overall feeling they were going for: Heroes, villains, and the public at large all losing their humanity, gives what happened on the 2 boats at midnight more effect than it would normally have had. Later, Marty

I am kinda fascinated that Nolan, who's always been subtle when it comes to special effects in his Batman films so far, decided to go all-out on the Two Face effects. It's bold, and I like it.

I'm not sure how you can be subtle about someone who has HALF HIS FACE BURNT OFF.

Yeah, that's one thing I didn't get. He was one-faced, personality wise. The whole "two face" ironic naming thing doesn't work when both your faces are batshit insane.
