I am still hard at work on Josh Kirby Time Warrior: Planet of the Dino Knights. I have had trouble finding time to do my writing. Meanwhile I have another project on the back burner and I'd like to gauge interest to see if it would do well. My next project is going to be Batman (the 1989 Tim Burton one). Yes I've decided to venture into the territory of relatively tolerable, dare say even good, movies. Would this be a movie you guys would be interested in seeing riffed?
Also waaaay down the line after several project I was thinking of riffing the pilot episode of Sliders. I thought of a fun little twist for that one but I won't reveal what that is because I think it would ruin the humor of it.

Keith and I finished writing for "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" today. Since it's a short'un (only 24 minutes), we're hoping to get recording done in a single session... if all goes as planned, we should have a sample ready by tomorrow, with the completed riff ready by Thursday or Friday!

We finally entered our recording sessions for "Congo". We thought we could breeze right through cuz we've been writing & rehearsing for weeks now (I think it could even be months at this point). Sitting down to record was 10 times more difficult than we imagined due to a change in procedure that was supposed to make things go faster. We recorded a solid first 10mins and got maybe 30mins of a rough cut. I've got a couple more techniques in my back pocket that will hopefully get things done faster (just not as fast as planned). It depends on how much post-production stuff I wanna give myself (which, right now, I want to be zero). At least we're in our final stages which means we're coming close to being completely done with it. I forgot how difficult and (dare I say) treacherous( ) all the technical and post- stuff is. That's 100% my doing. The promo stuff (samples, artwork, banners), the audio, sync lines... everything. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by it all. There's a lot I have to do all at once now. Jordan just writes and records (and he'll be the first to tell ya that I do all the heavy lifting technical-wise). I worked on our poster today. It needs LOTS of touching up. The final product is not gonna be as clean as I want it to be, but at least the concept's there. I'm supposed to keep with the theme of rotoscoping, but there's so much detail goin on this time, I'm just gonna hafta go without. It's even more detailed than our abandoned "Mothra vs. Godzilla" artwork (which was pretty epic). I'll hafta upload that later some time. Also, our short should be up by now but I'm still waiting to hear from torgos. I'm 99% sure it's in the system, but I can't access it. Which means it's on their end now. Nothing I can do about it at this point.

I remember reading somewhere that RoninFox was interested in doing the Tim Burton Batman movies. Maybe you and he could do two person riffs for them or something.

Batman and Batman Returns are both on my long list. The short list is what I'm working on right now and the two or so riffs I've picked to do next. The long list is what I intend to start work on in the next year or so. The long list is more subject to change than the short one, but yeah, I really want to tackle these two.

I'd be up to teaming up with Roninfox if he's interested. Not sure how the logistics of that would work but others have done it so I'm sure it's do-able. I certainly don't want to knowingly take someone else's movie. There is plenty of material out there to work with.

You know that's part of a series, right? There are 6, and Netflix has them all. I have them too, and have watched them, and can tell you that they get progressively weirder as the series goes on. The very last one actually throws a fairly good twist to the whole series. I'd thought about riffing them myself, but since I can't even get off my ass to finish my second iRiff a year after the first, I'd say it's fair game. Can't go wrong with Charles Band movies.

Yep, my plan is to spread the series out over time. No way would I survive doing all 6 in a row without losing my mind. I actually got a double dvd pack in the supermarket markdowns but they're 1 and 3. Three is very weird and there is a lot of sexual innuendo to be had with that one. The scene with all the toys singing for Gipeto (spelling?) is very annoying. The series is kind of like Quantum Leap meets Sliders geared for kids.

This announcement of Cinester Theater's next project will also give me a chance to quickly poll the audience a little bit. See, Keith wanted to do "The Nightmare Before Christmas" as our Halloween riff, but I argued that that's a Christmas movie, not a Halloween movie. He disagreed, and eventually we decided to split the difference and release it in November instead.
So up next is "The Nightmare Before Christmas"... but what do you think? Is that a Halloween movie? Or a Christmas movie?
