Fallout 3. The main quest, anyway. Downloaded Broken Steel just before I beat it, so now I can keep playing for God knows how long since I got the Explorer perk. I'm gonna get my $60 out of this game, damnit (now $70 with the DLC, I guess).

Funny thing:

The Explorer perk? Man, most of the fun I had with that game was finding the new places.  Don't forget, if you saved all of the Reilly's Rangers, you can go back to Reilly and get some serious dosh for your map.  And the dog is pretty lame.  Smiley
I always chose the Grim Reaper's Sprint over that one. But now with the level cap raised you can get them both. And the dog is pretty lame, it's rather difficult trying to keep the damn thing alive if you play on very hard. I got rather annoyed with the "Dogmeat has died" box coming up every five minutes.

Well, I'm not a hard-core gamer, so I have the difficulty set to Normal, which doesn't seem to present much of a problem to Dog Meat. As long as I chase his ass down whenever he runs off after an enemy. Yeah, I have both the Explorer and Grim Reaper's Sprint perks now. Explorer doesn't actually "find" the locations for you. It just shows you where they are on the map so you don't have to do too much wandering to find what you want.

inFamous (PS3)

Maybe getting a PS3 since they keep taking good games from the people who really deserve it... Xbox360 =))

Eh. Don't buy a PS3 just for this. It's a decent rental, but it's not a system seller. Go track down a copy of Red Faction Guerilla.instead. It's getting about the same reviews from the critics, but the fans seem to be raving more about it. (And it's multiplatform too.)

Personally, I'm bashing my way through Prototype right now.

I wasn't totally blown away by inFamous (I only played the demo, but it didn't grab me).  But a strong case can still be made for grabbing a PS3 this year, with exclusives like God of War III, Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain all dropping sometime within the next year.

Oh, and Red Faction is absolutely fantastic.

To get ready for Monkey Island I finished off the Strongbad series of games. I had already finished the first two, i played through the last three this week, and they were great! I really enjoyed the series and would totally pick up the next season if there is one!

Beat Red Faction Guerrilla this morning.  Last mission is kind of a pain, seemed kind of arbitrary that I beat it when I did, considering I didn't do anything differently than I did the previous dozen tries at the level....
Great game though.

Finished Ghostbusters (on both Casual and Professional difficulty), and finally got around to finishing off Resident Evil 5 on Professional.  Is it just me, or is there something wrong with a game when the hardest level is NOT the final boss battle, but two earlier boss battles, where if you don't have perfect aim and timing, you get smoked in less than ten seconds?  Oh, and not to mention the times where you do everything right, but your AI partner doesn't do what they are supposed to do, and you end up getting killed because they decided to run around in a circle behind you instead of, oh, I don't know, SHOOTING THE MONSTER WHILE YOU ARE OTHERWISE BUSY?

Sorry, but that pissed me off so much when that happened.  I could readily say every other time I screwed up was a matter of me being off in my timing, but having her mess around while I was doing everything correctly was such a slap in the face.  Thankfully she did her job the second time around, but man, that was so stupid...

And I like my PS3.  I think I'll wait on inFamous, but my Blu collection makes me happy.  And while I won't judge it since I've never played, I have to say Halo never really interested me, so it wasn't something that was going to sell me on a 360.  I know the Resident Evil series is multi-platform these days, but dang it, the first one was what got me hooked on Sony in the first place (even if they've moved away from cool, undead zombies), and of all the Sony products I've ever purchased, only the Playstation line has NEVER broken on me (weird, isn't it?  Somehow I'm the only one with the unbreakable systems)  Grin.

I went through and beat Uncharted again.  I played through it a year ago, but since they released trophies for it, and since I felt like playing through it again before the sequel comes out, I thought I'd give it a shot.  It only took me 3 days to beat it....it's a short game, but man is it fun.  I thought beating it on any difficulty would unlock Crushing mode, but apparently you have to beat it on Hard to unlock that.  Looks like I'll be playing through this game at least 2 more times if I want that Platinum trophy.   Tongue

"Secret Cow Level" of Diablo II - Lord of Distruction.  Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo!   Cheesy  Funny stuff!

Qualified to go there ages ago but my Wirt Leg wouldn't transform for some reason.  Only just got a patch for the game so I tried it again and I got in.  Unfortunately, first cow I hit was Boss Cow and he died almost immediately.  But I have another couple of characters and my original has started Hell level....I'll have other chances.

Also beat Wedding Dash - Ready, Aim, Love!  Cute game.  Inconclusive ending though.

Ah, gotta love that cow level.  I hope that Blizzard will put something similar in Diablo III.   Tongue

Finished the "Penumbra" games; they compiled them into one box set and charged me 10 bucks for the whole thing at Best Buy.  Completely blind purchase, and well worth it; one of the few survival horror-type games I've played in awhile that actually scared me (it's actually more of an adventure game than a survival horror; you encounter enemies, but most of the time you either have ineffective weapons or no weapons and have to sneak by them).  "Black Plague" is probably the best chapter, but "Overture" has its moments; I just didn't expect the story to go from "The Thing Meets Lost" in Overture to "System Shock meets Silent Hill" in Black Plague.  It sounds derivative, but it's really very unique.

James, how in God's name did you catch that quote of mine?  It couldn't have been more than 90 seconds before I deleted it and tried to cover my tracks.

Portal. It was a fun ride, but a very short one. Love that little song during the end credits.

SJP, I played the demo of the Ghostbusters game on the 360 and I can see what you're talking about with the NPCs off twiddling their thumbs while you're wrangling the ghost. I'm thinking about getting it on the Wii, though. Just seems a little more natural.
